Introduction

According to Sanatan Dharma, lord Shiva is the creator, protector, and ultimate destroyer of the world. Everything emerges from Shiva and returns to him at the end of the world. The ancient Vedic scripture describes lord Shiva as the mightiest of the mighty and looks at him as the auspicious one. Interestingly, the eternal trinity is incomplete without lord Shiva. Thus, lord Shiva holds the prime position in the Sanatan Dharma. It is quite fascinating.

Many people may not be aware that Sanatan Dharma is the authentic name of Hinduism[Ebook]. It is a philosophy focused on living a life filled with inner joy and fulfilment. It is the world’s most ancient culture whose origin is unknown but believed that it’s PreVedic and connected to lord Shiva.

The incredible qualities of lord Shiva

For the general people following Sanatan Dharma, lord Shiva is the highest state of consciousness beyond human perception. Thus, the common belief is that lord Shiva is the embodiment of the higher intelligence, and higher intelligence equates to Shiva

The enchanting thing here is that the highest form of lord Shiva is formless and dimensionless. A lingam is the representation of Shiva’s formless form. Shiva’s energy takes the form of other deities, each with a specific role in governing different aspects of the cosmos. Therefore, Shiva is supposed to be omnipresent and omniscient in every known and unknown cosmos.

Still, for his devotees, Shiva manifested his most pertinent physical form, known as Shiva-Shankara, so that others could sense his true presence. However, only a limited number of people who are actually close to him can experience his presence. Others keep assuming lord Shiva is a myth. Whereas, devotees and seers know that lord Shiva is the alpha male who lives at the highest dimension that no one ever reached.

When you devotionally get connected to lord Shiva, everything becomes clear. And you subconsciously start learning everything about Shiva, for instance, why he is associated with blue color?

The qualities of Lord Shiva as a husband

In this physical form, lord Shiva lives at Mount Kailash with his spouse goddess Parvati. Shiva is unique in his primitive nature of existence; the one who is the greatest transformer and, at the same time remarkably passionate lover and husband of goddess Parvati. Words are not required when they talk to each other; they talk with eyes. It is a kind of love that is free from the ego and resides in the profound part of Shiva’s heart.

Shiva is always there to favor goddess Parvati, when she needs him the most, even if it’s inconvenient for him to support her. They are the most beautiful and ideal couple in the world. Shiva Parvati, as a couple, is a metaphor for a perfect couple.

Shiva includes goddess Parvati in every decision-making. At the time of cosmic ocean crunching, Halahal emerged from it. To protect the universe from cosmic poison, Halahal, lord Shiva consumed it. Goddess Parvati gently prevented the Halahal from entering Shiva’s throat. This way, it could not reach Shiva’s heart where Narayan resides.

Shiva is the Mahadev (lord of the lords) and Parvati is the nature or Prakriti. Many times, Parvati depicted herself as the great goddess exactly like Shiva.

Let’s explore some of the wonderful qualities of Lord Shiva as a husband that endear him to his devotees.
