Introduction

Bholenath is the most loved name of Shiva. The name specifies the simplicity of Shiva, who gets easily pleased by just offering a Bilva leaf and water pouring on Lingam

In this post, I have answered why Shiva is called Bholenath.

भोलेनाथ: शिवाया रूपम् अति ललितम्

Lord Shiva is the limitless, omniscient, greatest transformer, Supreme Consciousness, and lord of lords renowned by the name of Mahadev. But Bholenath is a special name of lord Shiva, which is closer to the heart of devotees.

Bhole means the compassionate one, and Nath means the mighty king. Thus, Bholenath means the mighty king with innocence and grace. Shiva is the greatest giver famous for his benevolent nature.

Why Shiva is known as Bholenath?

Shiva is the lord of all three worlds free from the worldly bonds and complete in himself. Shiva always remained calm in his physical form and kept focusing on his inner energies.

In fact, lord Shiva’s philosophy is simple. If someone hates him, it’s their problem, not his. We must not waste our time by thinking and doing bad for others. Let the law of karma handle everything. Those who will do bad karma will eventually get their results of bad karma.

The reality is lord Shiva never pressured others to acknowledge his significance and worship him. Still, the followers of lord Shiva are countless all around the globe. By merely hearing the beat of his drum his followers dance in reverence for Shiva. Such is the influence Bholenath has on his devotees. They love everything about Shiva. They admire how Shiva frees them from their past sins and bestows inner peace, fortune, health, and joy.

Gauripati Shiva is gracious, and every Shiva devotee knows it; that kind of connection Shiva has with his dear devotees.

Shiva’s teaching is practical in all aspects, whether you believe him or not, but his lessons are helpful and life-transforming. As a devotee, you can seek immense power, courage, and knowledge from him by just chanting his mantra, Aum Namah Shivaya. Sages love to chant his mantra to enhance their physical and cerebrum capacities.

Worshipping lord Shiva means getting freedom from worldly disorders like Kama (lust), Kroda (anger), Moha (attraction), Maya (illusion), and Ahankara (ego).

Whatever I’m saying, you can testify to it. For that test, you require only one month. With complete devotion, chant the auspicious mantra OM Namah Shivaya for just one month and observe the change in your energy and home.

Let me give you a clear idea of what you need to do.

Get up early in the morning. The more early you begin the process, the better transformation will occur in your life.

The first thing to do in the morning is take a shower and dress up well. Afterward, bring some fresh flowers from your home garden. Otherwise, some fresh leaves will also work. It’s time to clean your home temple with all the devotion and affection in your heart towards the lord.

In case, you don’t have a temple in your house, then you can choose a particular spot of your house which should be peaceful and clean.

Now lit an oil lamp in the temple. I’m assuming that you have a figurine of lord Shiva (Photo, idol) in that spot at an appropriate location. Now you can offer your flowers and leaves near the oil lamp and fold your hands in reverence of Shiva. Start chanting any Shiva mantra repeatedly for the next 20 to 30 minutes.

I know it is difficult for beginners as it requires absolute concentrated powers. Aum Namah Shivaya is the easiest Shiva mantra that you can chant.

While chanting the mantra with closed eyes, your concentration will definitely break down, and you will experience some trouble, like scratching your neck or hands. You can restart your mantra chanting practice once you regain your mantra and your concentration. Your motive should be to overcome your inner fears and challenges, which will try to haunt you.

These are the inner impurities or wickedness that are trying to distract your concentration. Keep chanting the mantra with your complete devotion to Lord Shiva. With passing days, your concentration will become stronger and the power of the mantra will start working in you. In fact, chanting the mantra will minimize the loss of your concentration power and unlock your hidden potential.

I assure you, after a week, your mind will feel more relaxed and concentrated and you will experience positivity around you.

The best thing about Shiva is that Bholenath doesn’t belong to any community, caste, cult, creed, or religion. He is neutral in that aspect, Devas (deities) and Daityas (demons) have a common faith in him.

People refer to him as supreme Sanyasi or Vairagi for a reason. There are no special rules and the particular customs to worship him. He is beyond such laws and politics. The only thing that is required is true faith and devotion.

Once you invoke your reverence for him, then he has to come to sort out your every life issue in a mystical form. If you put your faith in Bholenath; He will unquestionably come to help you. It is the candor and grace of Shiva.

You only need to connect with him emotionally and let him enter in your heart. He can understand your unspoken words. World gurus and the entire sages community follow him for his kindness and seeking knowledge and strength. Lord Shiva is one of the most compassionate lords in the Sanatan Dharma, but also called the destroyer of darkness.

During the time of cosmic ocean crunching; everyone took the luxury item. Lord Shiva was the only one who took poison for himself to protect the universe from the adverser effect of the cosmic poison, Halahal. He drank it to protect all of us; these qualities of Shiva can make you fall in love with him.

Reading and knowing those simple but effective qualities of lord Shiva can fill anybody’s life with blissfulness. Worshipping Shiva is like surrendering to the auspiciousness and adapting all the grace of life. Shaktipati Shiva is a benevolent, emotional, innocent, guiltless, supernatural, shapeless cosmic phenomenon. Meanwhile, in the physical form, Shiva is the one who knows how to give equal respect to his consort, Goddess Parvati. Now, this makes sense why every unmarried girl wants a husband with the virtues and qualities of lord Shiva.

Conclusion

Shiva accepts everyone including venomous snakes to ghosts, demons, and humans. Ravana was one of the greatest devotees of Shiva who created Shiva Tandav Stotra in reverence of Shiva. Shiva as Bholenath is a husband, a father, a Teacher, and a friend you can connect with him in any form.
